Remembering...

On this day, we mark the 9th anniversary of the return home to God of our dear Sr. Marie Paul O' Brien, pddm. We still miss her so much and expect to appear in the kitchen to put on the kettle for a cuppa and a chat...her favourite! Or I still expect her to knock on my door and tell me to go to bed even though I know she's on the way to the art room to finish some commission or begin some 'inspiration'. I had the blessing to accompany our beloved Sr. M. Paul towards heaven in her return home to God. I had been in Canada and then Rome for the weeks preceding her death but she promised me that she would wait for me to get back from Rome before she passed. I returned in the afternoon, we spent the night at the hospice and during my watch with her, in a very serene and peaceful manner, she went home to that place where her suffering and Calvary ended. Sr. Paul, our hearts were sad when you left us but we know that your mission in Heaven will keep you busy! Intercede for us, poor sinners.
