PDDM Ireland looks forward to welcoming you to the RDS for WMOF!

I know, lots of abbreviations there in that blog title but just here to say that that there's great excitement here at our community as we're putting together the last bits and pieces for our participation in the World Meeting of Families in the RDS. We are happy to announce that we have a stand together with our Pauline brothers from the Society of St. Paul (SSP) and our Sisters from the Daughters of St. Paul. You can find us at Stands 114-116 and we'd be more than happy if you come along and say hi.
On our PDDM you'll find our sisters from our Dublin and Athlone communities and even some PDDM visitors who are here for the summer to learn English. You can come and talk to us, leave your prayer intentions for us before the Blessed Sacrament as we pray. We will have a small supply of some of the religious and liturgical articles which are available in our Liturgical Centres in Dublin and Athlone. However the goods we will have at the RDS are very special as most of them are handmade by the Sisters- ceramics, statues, cards, bookmarks, candles, rosaries and rosary cases. This is part of our mission to evangelise through art and beauty and as we make these things, we pray for those who will use them.
There are many wonderful stands here as we set up and we hope that those coming for the World Meeting of Families will have the opportunity to visit them all in between the scheduled talks, prayer moments and social events.

When I look at the mosaic of my life and all the people who compose it. God’s hand gathering lives of colour to form a masterpiece, a body, cell by cell.  Tiny little pieces put together colour by colour and forging something unforgettable, something that fits perfectly into the master plan, God’s handiwork where his grace allowed our paths to meet in life. Holy Hour of Thanksgiving for our Silver Jubilee of presence in Dublin.

The following is a guided holy hour prepared in occasion of our silver jubilee of presence in Dublin, celebrated this year. The Holy Hour follows the method of prayer given to our Pauline Family by Blessed James Alberione- to honour Jesus as Way, Truth and Life. The Icon of Friendship

Icon of Friendship Last week I received a beautiful surprise parcel in the post containing an icon and a book. Those who know me know that this almost equates to being Christmas for me: books and icons, both on my list of 10 favourite things! The icon was one I had actually never seen before and was a gift from Taize, a copy of the Coptic icon which belonged to Brother Roger Schultz, the former prior there. The original icon dates from seventh century Eygpt and is usually referred to as “Christ with the believer” but is just as frequently referred to as “the icon of friendship”. Although simple in its presentation, it is nevertheless a sophisticated image. Jesus is shown putting His arm around the shoulder of a friend; this man is called Menas, but he represents each one of us. Jesus does not face Menas, rather He stands alongside him; He accompanies him, sharing in the burdens of life. In His left arm Jesus holds the Scriptures, God’s word.
