Preparing for the anniversary of M.M.Scholastica Rivata

This Saturday, we commemorate 25 years since M.M.Scholastica returned to the house of the Father. Here are some of her spiritual thoughts which allow us to see the depth of her spiritual union with her Divine Master. THOUGHTS FROM MOTHER SCHOLASTICA ' ...Heaven is beautiful and to reach there we need to pass by the way of our Master, the way of the Cross, may the Lord be blessed because in His infinite mercy He   allowed us poor mortals to participate in it… '              Seek to correspond to the divine invitations and to work faithfully because the Lord has chosen you and loves you so much. He lets you taste the joy of belonging to Him, to be His, always be His. Give thanks to Him and keep faith that He will continue to enrich you with the Holy Spirit. Your ‘yes’ which you pronounced on the day of your Profession flows into each day until that final day where you will give to Him all of your life adorned...

You have not only a glorious history to remember and to recount, but also a great history still to be accomplished! (VC 110)

 Sr. M. Joseph Oberto, pddm History has widely been viewed as being an essential ingredient in the formation of identity. As we experienced during our pilgrimage to the places associated with our charismatic beginnings, going back to the roots of any family or Institute it's essential to remember that history is constructed in many ways. During these days whilst visiting many places in Piedmont we let the buildings, churches, schools and various other places tell their story. However the history of our religious family cannot be understood without the people and we had the blessing to listen to our 'elder' sisters. Now it's time to look at the history in detail. Thankfully, we have Sr. M. Joseph Oberto, pddm, with us during these next few days. Her task will be to lead us on a journey throughout the past hundred years or so, highlighting the key moments for our Congregation.
